if you want to make a backup copy of your registry before any changes, just go to ‘regedit’ and copy from there or ‘copy’ any key you don’t want to be changed. after copying make a ‘backup’ of this registry. and don’t go beyond these two things.

Great screensaver, but I can’t get the fourth one to work. In the GUI where you can select the customized version of the screen saver, there is a button “Apply”, the problem is that nothing happens when I push that button. The fourth screen saver has a different interface for configuration.

This guide will give you a basic walk-through of this screensaver pack.

So you have downloaded a file named Vista Screensaver Ported to XP.exe. This is not your usual screensaver pack and it does not come with any automatic installation wizard or a setup. A small application window pops up after you start the download process, but that’s all.

You will need to run the Vista Screensaver Ported to XP.exe directly. If you double-click on it, nothing will happen. So click on it, and choose to run it directly from the Desktop.

It opens a small application window with some basic information about the pack, including its author, where to download it from, that sort of things. You can also read a quick guide on how to use the pack’s features.

Go to the main tab at the top right of the application window. On this main tab you can select a theme if you want to. There are four of them to choose from. Check Aurora, Bubbles, Mistify and Ribbons.

Next, you can choose the speed of the image or audio animation you would like to view. It supports a wide range of speeds.
