SuTiSy is a lightweight and portable piece of software designed to help users synchronize subtitle files to their corresponding movies. It offers support only for SRT files and it does no come packed with configuration settings, making it accessible to first-time users.
Portability advantages
Since there is no installation involved, you can drop the executable file in any part of the hard disk and just click it to run.
Another possibility is to save SuTiSy to a USB flash disk or similar storage unit, in order to run it on any PC with minimum effort and no previous installers.
An important factor to take into account is that the Windows registry and Start menu do not get updated with new entries, and there are no extra files created on the disk, leaving it clean after removal.
Straightforward interface and options
The GUI is ultrasimplistic, based on a small window with a clear-cut structure. The “what you see is what you get” principle clearly applies here, as there are no other options available, apart from the ones shown in the main frame.
All you have to do is point out a SRT file using the file browser (the drag-and-drop feature is unsupported), set the delay in milliseconds, and click a button to immediately apply the new modifications. There are no other noteworthy options available here.
Unfortunately, SuTiSy does not implement an option that would allow users to view movies while tinkering with the delay settings, in order to accurately synchronize the subtitle stream.
Evaluation and conclusion
The tool has minimal impact on PC performance, running on low CPU and RAM. There were no kind of issues throughout our evaluation, since it did not hang, crash or pop up error messages. Although it does not comprise comprehensive options, SuTiSy offers a very simple solution to delaying subtitle files.
