Nice idea. I don’t see why we should have to “opt” in. I’m not even sure I
know how you implement this idea.

I can see myself using it for a new blog or website design and I can imagine
adding these to current applications like Illustrator.

For example I’d love to use the “Add to favorites” button in google chrome as
a simple way to save any pages that load quickly to speed up my workflow.

Just one thing: I wonder if you’re taking the images, like this:
and making a set of 1448256 image for it. You’d have to be a
master of your image creation/editing program, which would suck. I’m not
honestly saying that, but in my experience, it’s difficult to make something
look exactly the same on different screen sizes, and therefore different

You could at least start with 16×16 and work up from there. (This would be
more fun if you had a whole lot of these Icons all laid out in line for us,
but uh, that would be a lot of work and a lot of spacial constraints.)
